William Ackner, 79, Central Bridge, Dies
CENTRAL BRIDGE - William Ackner, 79, a retired farmer, died Sunday at his home here after about six weeks' illness.
He was born at West Berne Sept. 19, 1863, son of William and Mary Miller Ackner, and had lived at this place for more than 16 years. He had attended Central Bridge Methodist church and belonged to Central Bridge odd Fellows lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary E. Schell Ackner; a don Douw (sic) Acknew of Schoharie Junction; four daughter, Mrs. George Weidman of West Berne, Mrs. Charles Tompkins of Guilderland and Miss Ruth Ackner and Mrs. Albert Anderson of Central Bridge; a step son, J. Howard Allen of Central Bridge and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Pangburn funeral home here, with Rev. H. George Mais, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in the Beaver Dam cemetery at West Berne.
