Abrams, Myrtle C. MEDUSA, N.Y. Myrtle C. Abrams, 81 years, of Medusa, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn in Albany, N.Y. She was born in Westerlo, N.Y. on March 4, 1927, daughter of the late Lafayette and Catherine (Lounsbury) Fancher. Myrtle was a graduate of the Greenville Central School. A lifelong homemaker, she loved gardening, sewing and playing games (checkers, cards and board games) with her family. A member of the Clark White Post #589 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of the Hiawatha Grange. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a friend to many. She will be greatly missed. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ford H. Abrams in 1990. Surviving are her three daughters, Karen McAll (Robert), Susan Downes (John), Linda Dentice (Peter); a son, Edward Abrams (Sandy); seven grandchildren, Danielle Downes, Crystal Haring (Tom), William Oleksiw III, Drew Abrams, Catherine Gebe (Josh), Jonathan Downes (Kate), and Mary Dentice; four great-grandchildren, Cody May, Adam, Daren and Beth; also a sister, Edith Ormsbee (Ray) and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Saturday, August 30, 2 p.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville, N.Y. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the Medusa Cemetery. Those who desire may contribute to the Greenville F.F.A. or to the Vol. Ambulance Squad or the vol. fire company of your choice.
